IMOswiss AG accredited for wine in the new equivalence list of the EU Regulation (EC) N° 1235/2008

We are happy to announce that the EU Commission has approved a revised version of the equivalence list end of July 2014 in the Official Journal of the European Union with Regulation (EU) No 829/2014, where IMOswiss AG is now recognized also for wine in product Category D (Processed agricultural products for use as food). Wine exporters certified by IMO are therefore allowed from 1st of August 2014 to export their products into the EU without a corresponding import license if it is guaranteed that the wine is labeled with the correct IMOswiss AG code number. Alliance of Responsible Mining (ARM): IMOswiss AG authorised certification body for Fairmined certification system

The Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) and IMOswiss AG (IMO) are happy to announce the signing of the final contract authorizing IMOswiss AG to deliver sustainable, credible and transparent auditing and certification services to Artisanal and Small-scale Mining Organisations against the Fairmined Standard.

The launch of the certification and auditing system follows the recent publication of version 2.0 of the Fairmined standard that includes some important changes to provide new opportunities for Artisanal and Small-scale miners globally and for the market. The Fairmined Standard for gold and associated precious metals was developed with ARM’s network for responsible mining and includes requirements for traceability, social development, conflict mitigation, economic development, environmental protection and labour conditions.

Textile: GOTS Version 4.0

On March 1rst, 2014 the International Working Group (IWG) released the new version 4.0 of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Transition period for users of GOTS to fully comply with the new Version of GOTS will be one year.
The Standard and the revised manual can be found on the GOTS website: www.global-standard.org, which also provides a document that outlines the changes.

IMO officially recognized as control body for the purpose of equivalence by the Swiss FOAG

We are happy to announce that through publication of the List of Recognized Certification Bodies and Control Authorities IMOswiss AG is from 30th of January 2014 officially recognized as control body for the purpose of equivalence by the Swiss FOAG (BLW) for Switzerland . IMOswiss AG has been approved in more than 60 countries as equivalent and is therefore one of the international control bodies with the largest selection of recognized countries. Customers benefit not only from the large number of eligible countries, but also from the wide range of approved product categories: with the exception of wine and in conversion products and products from Thailand as well as aquaculture which is not included in the scope of the Swiss Organic Farming Ordinance.
IMO certified customers benefit in particular from the removal of import authorizations. Please notice that transaction certificates will still be needed for each shipment.
