The flow of the inspection and certification procedure is described in detail in the
imo_standard_procedures_for_textile_certification.pdf.
We have summarized the basics to provide you a short overview:
- Query:
We accept your query or order by phone or in writing. You may use this contact form for your request: application_form_textile_e.doc. We send you a copy of the guidelines for the inspection, the standard procedures textiles as well as an inspection contract.
- Preparation:
Conclusion of the contract, the conditions for the inspection, financing, and confidentiality are set forth in writing. In preparation for the first inspection, the company to be inspected provides all of the necessary documents and information about its current operating structure. This documentation is registered in the Questionnaire for Manufacturer Textile and contain article lists, technical procedure sheets, recipes / safety data sheets, packaging samples, etc.
- Inspection
Complete inspections generally take place once a year and take around one day, though initial inspections generally take longer than follow-up inspections. The inspection is conducted by inspectors with specialist training; they are bound to absolute confidentiality.
- Certification
Certification is based on the inspectors report, which is signed by the company. A certification committee then decides whether there is any need for corrective actions. The company is notified of any conditions that are imposed and of the deadlines for fulfillment of these conditions to remedy any problems. If the inspection is positive, an operational certificate is issued; it is valid until the next follow-up inspection.
