Certification requirements

The National Organic Prorgam (NOP) has not yet published specific organic requirements for bee keeping. However, apiary production is currently covered by the organic poultry requirements (§ 205.236 - 239) and therefore organic honey products sold on the US market must be certified accordingly.
  • Bees under continous organic management from the 2nd day of life onwards
  • 100% NOP organic feedstuff such as wild pollen, honey (own or NOP) or NOP organic sugar
  • No antibiotics
  • Medication acc. national list - no formic acid (varroa!)
