| How to become certified with IMO |
>> Submit a description of your operation and organic activities (incl. full contact details) to the nearest IMO office or the IMO group office in Switzerland.
You can use the form "request for offer" below.
>> IMO will send you more information on its services, fees and procedures and might need to ask some questions back. If requested, IMO will send a detailed offer (provisional cost estimate) for the costs of inspection and certification of your operation according to all chosen standards. You will receive the IMO operator profile to be filled in, which also explains the most important requirements for organic certification.
>> By submitting the signed offer and contract you officially apply for certification. The complete description of your activities (IMO operator profile) must be filled in.
>> IMO will agree with you on a date for the inspection. A prepayment is due before the inspection is finally confirmed.
>> An IMO inspector will inspect your operation's activity with regard to your compliance with the chosen organic standards. Specific questions about measures to be taken to ensure compliance can be discussed at that point. At the end of the inspection, the findings will be discussed and documented in the inspection report.
>> IMO will further evaluate the inspection findings and take a certification decision. You will receive a certificate, a certification decision letter, a summary assessment possibly with a list of required corrective measures for each requested certification scheme as well as the final evaluation report.
>> As soon as certification has been issued, you can start to export/market organic products to all markets for which your certification is valid. Your report can be sent to private label organisations for addtional certification.
>> Please use the following Request_form_offer_IMO.doc to get an offer of your closest IMO office.
