How to become certifiedThe steps to certification follow a standardised procedure, based on many years of experience from IMO, and the guidelines of the respective standard setting organization.
The essential requirements necessary for certification can be implemented in the course of a voluntary pre-audit. Once a contract has been signed, IMO carries out an audit. IMO audits every procedure to ensure compliance with the certification standard. The information received is, of course, treated confidentially. In a report, subject authorisation by the company, we certify compliance with the standard and indicate any deviations. The company having successfully passed the audit, the certificate is issued. If you desire certificates for more than one standard we can perform a combined audit in order to keep down costs. In subsequent annual surveillance audits, IMO confirms that all requirements are still complied with, including the flow of goods and any changes in the operation. After five years, a reoccurring main Audit is scheduled to test all areas of operation. GuidelinesA company needs to evaluate various aspects of a trademark for successful marketing. Criteria such as how recognisable a logo is, its international validity, the transparency and credibility of the system and the acceptance by environmental organisations should be considered to get the desired positive effects in the sale.
Qualitative production requirements exist only for forest management. In agreement with the guidelines, you have the opportunity to compare your company with the requirements and to appreciate how much change might be required.
