FSC Forest Management (FM)The certification of forest enterprises has the goal to prove that the basic guidelines for forest management are fulfilled. Companies are successfully awarded certification through internationally recognised guidelines meeting the minimum requirements regarding ecological, social and economic standards for quality in forest management.
The operational audit checks the current economic measures, operational planning and bookkeeping and helps employees to become familiar with certification requirements. This leads to a greater understanding of how operational commitments to certification transfer into the actual sale of wooden products. Forest management certification can be awarded to either individual companies or groups (Group Certification). The time frame needed for a Forest Management main audit is by experience 1.5 – 10 days mainly depending on the management system, area and location of the organisation. Up to the same time will be needed for preparation, stakeholder consultation and report writing plus travelling. Any expenses and FSC licence fees are to be covered by the company, too. The annual surveillance audits are based on a random check and are therefore shorter. Please send us the filled application_form-fm_ii_6-1-1a-en-aug06.doc. You will receive a detailed offer based on a daily rate depending on the country and further information including the respective standard. >> How to become certified |
