NATRUE: Criteria & Label

In order to meet the expectations of the consumers and to guarantee the natural/ organic quality of the final products, actors within the cosmetic sector have developed the NATRUE - standards.

In order to be able to offer the consumers a wide range of natural cosmetics, three quality levels have been created. For each the minimum percentage of natural ingredients and the maximum content of nature identical raw materials are clearly defined. 
 

Key elements of natural and organic cosmetics with the NATRUE-Label

  • Three label system, reflecting NATURAL COSMETICS, NATURAL COSMETICS with ORGANIC PORTION and ORGANIC COSMETICS:
    1. Natural cosmetics: produced exclusively from natural substances
    2. Natural cosmetics with organic portions: at least 70 % of the natural substances of plant and animal origin must come from certified organic agriculture or certified wild collection according to Regulation EC 834/2007 or formerly Regulation EEC 2092/91. No use of mineral oil
    3. Organic cosmetics: 95 % of the ingredients of plant and animal origin must come from certified organic agriculture or certified wild collection
  • No use of mineral oils or synthetic substances
  • 100% of all ingredients are natural, nature-identical or nearly natural. The use of other substances is not permitted
  • No use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
