US National Organic ProgramThe labelling of organic food on the US market is regulated by the National Organic Program (NOP). The national label for organic food is the USDA Seal. As aquaculture and fishery products are not included into the scope of the programme, the USDA seal may not be used for this product group. However, aquatic products may be marketed as organic if certified according to a recognised standard. The standard must be clearly indicated on the product.
