With more than 20 year experience in organic inspection and certification in developing countries, IMO acts also as competent expert for all aspects related to organic certification and development of local organic movements.

In the past years, IMO has contributed its expertise for example in the following projects:

• Bhutan: Expert for organic certification and development of a local organic movement in the EU-funded project "rural development and food safety in Bhutan"
• International: Author of chapter on organic certification in the "UNCTAD Handbook for organic fruit and vegetable production in the tropics"
• Ethiopia: Evaluation of the status of organic production in Ethiopia for ITC organic certification project. 
• Indonesia: trainings and preassessments for building up local capacity with regard to organic certification in Indonesia
• Presentations at various conferences (IFOAM conferences, PAN  Organic cotton conference, etc.)
