As an expert in the field of fairtrade and social quality assurance, IMO has worked for example in the following projects in the past years:
- Development of the IMO Social + FairTrade Certification Programme with Bio Foundation (Switzerland). (2006)
- Development of a joint core harmonized quality system for FLO and IFAT with core basic faitrade standards, a harmonized quality assurance system and certain common quality management principles. (2005)
- Expert for external verification of the Ghana monitoring system for child labour in the cocoa chain, initiated by the International Cocoa Industry and in cooperation with institutions like ILO, the International Union of Agriculture Workers and others. (2005)
- Development of the new FLO standards for Fairtrade cotton and Fairtrade cotton textiles. Presently the first textiles ("made with fairtrade cotton) are being marketed with the popular Max Havelaar/Transfair/Fairtrade seal based on this new standard. (2003)
- Verification of the control system of the "Hand in Hand" Fairtrade Scheme of Rapunzel (since 2003)
- Development of a control system for LINK (fair textiles label) (2000)
